Cornerstones, Perks and Effects
Overview
"Cornerstones" and "Perks" are positive influences Viceroys can gain to help them win games. "Effects" are normally negative influences (Glade Working Effects), but can be positive (Biome Effects).
Viceroys can look at which effects affect Buildings by clicking on the Building in question. (Pictured right).
Cornerstones:

Cornerstones, Perks and Effects' images can be hovered on top of, where more information via a tooltip will be displayed. Small text such as x2 or +1 (not limited to) will also appear on the image, indicating a stacking effect.
Cornerstones
Annual Cornerstones
Annual Cornerstone picks come in two categories. They are LEGENDARY (Gold) in years 2, 4, and 6 and EPIC(Purple) in all other years. Viceroys are advised to use "Rerolls" in Legendary years.
Stormforged Cornerstones
Stormforged Cornerstones are extremely powerful, but require a blood or meta resource sacrifice in the Forsaken Altar. Up to three Stormforged Cornerstones can be earned in a single settlement. If the non-Stormforged version of a cornerstone is already active when the option for the Stormforged version appears in the Forsaken Altar, that option's cost will be discounted and will upgrade the existing cornerstone instead of adding a second copy of the cornerstone if chosen.
Perks
Perks are much the same as Cornerstones, but bought and earned instead of awarded annually. Perks come in four categories, UNCOMMON (Green), RARE (Blue), EPIC(Purple) or LEGENDARY (Gold).
Traders
Each trader has a set of possible building blueprints and perks for sale. See Trader Wares for more details.
Order
Orders you fulfill may have one or more perks as part of their rewards for satisfying the Queen's demands.
Strider Port Rewards
Each time a Strider Port expedition in the Coastal Grove is completed, you will receive a chest containing 2 stacks of random goods along with a random cornerstone or perk. The rarity of the cornerstone/perk is determined randomly based on the level of the expedition, with higher level expeditions giving a higher chance of a rarer cornerstone/perk.
Effects
Effects are modifiers to your settlement, some of which are temporary or conditional. Effects come in four categories, UNCOMMON (Green), RARE (Blue), EPIC(Purple) and NEGATIVE(Red).
Glade Event Decorations
Some Glade Events transform into decorations for your settlement that also carry a passive bonus effect.
Firekeeper Bonuses
Each species has a special firekeeper bonus that affects the whole settlement when assigned to the Ancient Hearth.
Service Building Effects
Each service building has one or more passive bonuses that become active when a certain number of villagers are assigned to work in the building.
Biome Effects
Each Biome has unique characteristics which are explained and tracked as an effect.

Strategies
- Often, viceroys will avoid choosing their initial several Cornerstones until they know a little bit more about their mission. For example, waiting to pick until opening the first Glade or choosing a Blueprint first.
- A perk rewarding +1 to production is far more valuable for recipes that yield fewer goods. When a recipe like
Fabric yields a stack of 2, a perk that gives +1 to Fabric is a 50% increase of production. Contrast that with a recipe like
Coats that yields a stack of 10, a perk that gives +1 to Coats is only a 10% increase of production. Since all gathered resources, like
Insects yield 1 good at a time, a perk that gives +1 to Insects is a +100% increase, or doubling, of production.[1]
