Overview
Foxes are majestic and mysterious creatures deeply connected to the forest. They evolved a symbiosis with Blightrot through long exposure to Rainwater. Foxes are great are skilled scouts (Forest) and feel comfortable cooperating with their own kind (Cooperation). They are highly susceptible to starvation yet are immune to Hostility.

Their Starting Ability is to reveal the location of the closest Rainwater Geyser. Foxes have a base Resolve of 5, with a Break interval of 02:00 minutes. Their Resilience is listed as Low, and their Demand is at 15. With a Decadence level of 5 and a Hunger Tolerance of 3, Foxes are one of the first to starve and die. They are immune to Forest Hostility and make for a species favored by all Viceroys.

Consumption and Satisfaction
Like all species, Foxes need to fulfill Complex Needs to start generating Reputation. The more Complex Needs you fulfill, the higher their Resolve will go, up to a maximum of 50. With the exception of the Housing Needs, every need fulfilled grants an additional effect, like Porridge's increased double production chance.

Cornerstones and Perks
Strategy
* The combination of immunity to the passive Resolve penalty from Hostility and extremely easy to fulfill Comfort specialization results in Foxes being arguably the strongest species in terms of Reputation generation through high Resolve.
** Having 3 Foxes in a Woodcutters' Camp immediately results in them gaining a +5 bonus to their Resolve, plus they ignore any penalty from the increased hostility from having extra Woodcutters.
** When having Fox Woodcutters is infeasible due to hostility issues (i.e. during the Storm), they can be assigned as Haulers in the Main Warehouse to trigger their Comfort bonus.
** Having Foxes in multiples of 3 can be helpful for maintaining a high average Resolve for their species, though this can be relaxed if buildings with 4 worker slots, such as the Cookhouse and Mine, are available.
** Service Buildings are a great place for Foxes to work. With the exception of the Market, all Service Buildings have 3 worker slots. By filling those slots with Foxes, you can trigger their Comfort bonus and allow other species to work in other buildings that take advantage of their Proficiency bonuses instead.
* At Prestige 9+, the Foxes' Proficiency bonus is more useful than ever, as the +5% Glade Event work rate per Fox bonus greatly helps to offset the 33% penalty.
* The Fox Firekeeper ability is very useful, but only under the right circumstances. If assigning a Fox Firekeeper can reduce the Hostility to a lower level (indicated by multiples of 100), then the Firekeeper can effectively raise Global Resolve by 2 for other species outside of the Storm, and by 6 (4 for Foxes) during the Storm while also potentially deactivating some Negative Forest Mysteries. In any other situation, having a Fox Firekeeper is completely useless, and a different Firekeeper should be assigned to take advantage of other bonuses.

Trivia
* There are multiple Fox Traders, named Alune Soulgazer and Ruenhar Brightclaw.<br />
* Foxes have two skins, with one skin having wide blue pauldrons, pants and a blue tail stripe, and the other skins having narrower green pauldrons, pants and a green tail stripe.
* They also have two voice pitches, high and low.
* Foxes were added during Early Access in the Sentinels of the Forest update after a community vote, where they got 11,197 votes or ~57% of total votes[[#References|[2]]].
* Before update 1.4, Foxes' Comfort specialization used to be Rainwater.
* Before update 1.8, Foxes' Comfort specialization used to be Blightrot.
* Before update 1.4, Foxes had Brawling and Luxury needs instead of Religion and Boots.
