A mining pit is a mining building that employs villagers who mine iron, clay or salt deposits for, respectively, iron ore, clay and salt.

Construction

Mining pits require 4 planks to be constructed by the player via regular placement. They can only be placed atop one of the aforementioned deposits. If fitted correctly, multiple mining pits can be placed over one deposit. They can not be relocated once placed.

Use

Each mining pit allows for up to four families to work there, with the workers performing tasks at the iron/clay/salt deposit to extract their respective resources.

Upgrades

Deep Mine

  • If you have chosen the deep mining perk and your mining pit is placed over a rich deposit, they can be upgraded to a deep mine. This allows the deposit to be mined indefinitely, even after the deposit is 'exhausted'.
  • This upgrade costs 50 regional wealth and 10 planks.
