The granary is a logistical building used for the collection, storage, and distribution of food resources within a settlement.

Construction

Upon placement, the granary will require 2 timber and 10 stone to be constructed. Once fully built, 3 families can be assigned to work in it. Once built, a maximum of three families can be assigned to manage the collection and distribution of available food resources. This can be raised to six families when upgraded.

Use

Families working here will collect any valid resources from the pantries of other buildings. Collection by granary workers is done automatically at all times, even if those other buildings' pantries are not full. However, collection is relatively slow and generally does not result in the emptying of local pantry storage once they have multiple collection points.

The granary has a cart that a family member can use to move 10 resources at a time on roads, which is a key advantage. Upon upgrading the granary there are additional carts available.

Also, note that resources left outside in piles can spoil due to rain. The granary is one way of preventing this, and workers will collect the resource from the pile to put them inside.
