Strategies
- Although the Advanced Rain Collector is far more efficient than using the basic Rain Collector and can gather all 3 types of rainwater, unlike the Geyser Pump, choosing the Advanced Rain Collector has some significant downsides that should be considered.
- Much like the Workshop, Choosing the Advanced Rain Collector does not give you access to any new recipes, only more efficient ones. However, unlike the Workshop's improved Building Materials recipes which also reduce the number of materials required and therefore increase the total amount of building materials that can be produced using limited resources, the Advanced Rain Collector's improved rainwater recipes only increase the speed and efficiency of gathering resources that don't require inputs to begin with. You should consider the opportunity cost of choosing the Advanced Rain Collector over a different blueprint that can increase the variety of products your settlement can produce.
- The Advanced Rain Collector requires 5
Pipes to build. If you lack the resources to create more pipes, building the Advanced Rain Collector can reduce the number of buildings you can set up Rainpunk Engines in, which could defeat the purpose of the Advanced Rain Collector.
