Abilities
The second, passive ability can be unlocked at the 
Mystic for 1 × 
Shards.
Upgrades
The upgrade can be unlocked directly on the unit.

*Each time an upgrade is bought the costs of all upgrades is increased by 1 × Ingot for that cycle.
Levels
The Observer levels up when eating at the Tavern, increasing some of the stats.
Enemy
As a monster the Observer can attack your kingdom. Observers have a circular movement when attacking, this can make them hard to hit for some units, especially ones with projectiles.
