Description

approval screen

Its symbol is the thumbs-up sign in the top UI-bar. It ranges from 0% to 100% and provides bonuses or penalties. You start with 50%, which is the neutral point. You gain approval by fullfilling the requirements of your burgage plots and similarly lose approval by failing to do so. By raising your approval you enable the immigration of new families.

Approval rating

Approval rating consists of two categories:

  • Recent factors
  • Lingering memories

Recent factors describe the situation right now. It gets refreshed regularly. It is the bigger influence of the two.
Lingering memories represent your populations memory of previous times. Since it's only the memory the effects are halved compared to the recent factors. When the bonus or penalty of the recent factor disappears, the lingering memory will fade out over a 90 day timeframe.

Approval stages

There are seven approval stages. Three with penalties, three with bonuses, and one with neither.

Stage Range Effects
Reviled 0% - 4% -100% Tax collection efficiency
-3 Monthly migration
-5 Influence per month
-10 Public order
Cannot form militia
Despised 5% - 19% -50% Tax collection efficiency
-10% Militia morale
-1 Monthly migration
-1 Influence per month
Disliked 20% - 44% -20% Tax collection efficiency
Respected 45% - 54% No effects
Liked 55% - 79% +1 Monthly migration
+1 Passive income (burgage Lvl3)
Admitted 80% - 94% +2 Monthly migration
+1 Passive income (burgage Lvl2 & Lvl3)
+10 Influence per Month
Revered 95% - 100% +3 Monthly migration
+1 Passive income (all burgage levels)
+20 Influence per month
+10% Militia morale

Development Perks

There are two development perks, that affect approval rating.

  1. Bamberg Smallholders: Increases approval bonus for food variety by +10%.
  2. Smiths of Passau: Each militia footmen and milita spear unit at full strength grants 2.5% approval.
