Door Lock
Door Locks can limit Clanfellow access to Rooms.
Every Door can have it's Lock Level altered by the player, aside from Curtains which can't be locked at all. All Visitors will be able to use all Doors by default, but permissions can be altered by the player. Doors can have their Lock Level increased or decreased, and Visitors (by type) can have their access restricted or restored.
Locks can also be used to prevent Animals (aside from Rats and Cats) passing through Doors.
The Door levels are, from least restrictive to most:
"Animals" (allows Animals and Clanfolk) - Animals are permanently set to this level, although Chickens are too small and require Critter Doors to enter Rooms.
"Unlocked" (every Clanfellow allowed) - Traders are permanently set to this level.- "Guests" (any Clanfellow not a Trader) - Travellers are initially set to this level, but it can be lowered.
- "Workers" (prevents Traders and Travellers) - Workers are initially set to this level, but it can be lowered.
- "Family Only" (3 levels) - no Visitors, just the players Clan members.
Only Branch Barn Doors, Branch Gates, and Straw Curtains will be set to the Animals level when constructed, all others default to the Unlocked level. Clicking on any Door brings up an infobox with alterable Lock Levels, the visible Doors on the Map will have an Icon displayed over them to show their level. Having the Clanfellow/Animal display (just above the Main Toolbar) set to Animals will make all Icons on Doors that Animals can't pass through display in Red. This also happens if the player had selected any Wildlife prior to clicking the door.
Use of the
Move To command may allow the player to direct Animals to pass through Doors they wouldn't otherwise be able to use. This can even allow a Chicken to pass through a normal Door.
