Pathfinding in Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic

Pathfinding rules at certain times can be opaque, poorly explained or documented. Some buildings allow Pedestrians or Vehicles to pathfind through them, while others do not. Other mechanics can be at play where certain buildings have an Autobuild or Autosearch radius that can influence the pathfinding as well.

Trains

Blue: tested building,in this case the big refueling station. Purple: distance to 2nd silo. Red: Silo used in short distance test and with just 1 'blue' building

Paths through buildings

The way these buildings have been verified to be pathable through is twofold.

  1. A direct logisical connection on the train itself, station to station.
  2. By servicing stations with a Rail Distribution Office.

A train is used to bring Crops from one silo to another. After roughly 200meters the building to be tested gets build at both silo's. Then a stretch of rail of 3.500 meters long (ground) is placed between the buildings. Trains are then setup to path with option 1 or 2 mentioned above.

Buildings that were pathed through succesfully include:

  • Train diesel station (large)
  • Train diesel station (small)
