The Water Pump allows you to pump water from the sea around your colony via Water Pipes. One Whisker can be assigned to the pump where they will run on the mouse wheel to pump water at 5 units at a time until the evening or water storage is full in the connected system.

This building must be placed on land with the intake pipe in the sea. There is a three tile latitude on placement from the edge of the sea as the intake pipe does not turn downward to the sea for that distance. There is no advantage on pump rate based on the depth of the water at the intake pipe.

Water pipes must be connected to the pump outlet and cannot be connected to the inlet pipe. The outlet is on the 2nd floor of the "front" of the pump.

While Water Pumps do not appear to pump much water, a single pump can keep up with quite a few facilities, especially if there is sufficient water storage on the line.

Water Pumps do not operate at night (unless you're using overtime) but Showers and Bathhouses do. Without water storage, some of your Whiskers may not be able to bathe. Additionally, Steam Boilers can continue to operate using residual fuel at night. This will also draw water while the Water Pump is offline.
