The Weaver building is the first available building in the fiber supply chain. It will remain an important building throughout the game to keep your Whiskers clothed and sleeping well.

The first recipe you will have access to is turning raw flax into woven cloaks. The Weaver does this at a rate of 1 flax to 2 woven cloaks.

Flax is a native crop and can be obtained early via foraging to support your immediate needs such as clothing your Whiskers before winter arrives. A small farm of flax should be planted early to support the Weaver but it will need to be expanded significantly to keep up with the full fiber supply chain.

Woven cloaks are frequently provided by The Claw's shipments and sometimes offered as rewards for fully paying your taxes. These are supplementary, and you will still need the Weaver to keep up with demand.

Producing extra woven cloaks at the Weaver allows them to be sold to the Smuggler or to the Pirates at the same rate as iron ore to The Claw (21 coins). The Claw will not accept woven cloaks for tax payment.

The Weaver will add a fabric recipe later when fabrics are researched. These are produced at a rate of 3 threads to 3 fabric or 1:1. Threads are obtained via the Flax Spinner or Cotton Gin. The fabric is used at the Tailor to make Tailored Cloaks or Bedding. This is the only building that currently produces fabric.

Fabric is not accepted by The Claw, the Smuggler, or the Pirates as payment. You must up convert fabric at the Tailor before it can be sold.

The Weaver uses scissors as its catalyst like all fiber buildings. Scissors are crafting using copper ingots at the Coppersmith. These will improve the production speed of Weavers, but you will need to assess your resource situation to determine if using catalyst is worth the cost. For example, if you're already exhausting your thread supply, the scissors won't help much.
