This page is part of the TI Space Nations mod.

Nations can be united in two new ways: the colony nations of one world into a planetary union, and the nations of Earth into the United Nations.

Planetary unions

Requires: the Planetary Union project (15,000 research, after City Core).

A union is formed with the vanilla Unification policy (Set National Policy mission). It lists other colony nations that are:

  • on the same world,
  • fully controlled by the same executive faction,
  • consolidated on both sides,
  • not at war with each other and not on a relations cooldown.

The first unification founds the <world> Union (for example Mars Union), which takes over both nations - notification <union> is founded.

  • All control points go to the faction that enacted it.
  • The union claims every settled colony province on the world.
  • Military tech 4.5, cap synchronized with Earth.
  • Colony nations founded later on that world are claimed by the union and can join it through Unification.
  • Unions have Living Space and Frontier Settlement too (settling next to the land of any member), see Economy and Priorities.
  • The aliens never unify nations.

United Nations of Earth

United Nations Charter

Project (50,000 research, after Great Nations and Unity Movements), can be completed once in the whole game. Gives +200 influence influence and +40 control point capacity.

  • On completion, the founder's strongest Earth nation (highest GDP) in which it holds consolidated executive control becomes the core of the United Nations; all UN control points go to the founder. Notification: The United Nations of Earth is founded.
  • If the founder has no such nation yet, it gets United Nations charter awaits a founding nation; the check is repeated every month.

Global Assembly

Project (100,000 research, after the Charter and Accelerando), once in the whole game.

  • The UN claims every region of Earth (The Global Assembly convenes).
  • From then on, Unification lists Earth nations that are controlled by the UN's executive faction, consolidated on both sides, whose capital the UN claims without hostility, that are not at war with the UN and not on cooldown. No federation is needed.

The UN stays on Earth; its military tech cap follows Earth's.

SPOILERS INSIDE!

The aliens dislike the UN even more than colony nations: +200 hate for the founder at once and 5 more every month. See Aliens.

Note: AI factions never research the UN projects, so a game without human players never gets a UN.
