Component:rcic
In Game Description
The Combat Information Center (CIC) is the central command hub that provides command and control for the warship, and is critical in the operation of the vessel during an engagement. This compartment has increased resistance to destruction compared to a normal CIC.
Destruction of the CIC results in a loss of command and the affected warship cannot receive commands[1] until the CIC is repaired.
Gameplay usage
Most ships have an identification difficulty of 200 (300 on the Marauder, Moorline, Moorline refit, and civilian bulk hauler). A Basic CIC reveals type in 200 seconds on difficulty 200, and full identity in 800 seconds. If a ship has no CIC and/or no restores for any broken CICs, it will be abandoned by crew. The high durability for moderate-low cost means Reinforced CICs are not uncommonly used as tanking compartments.

[KRED]: Did you see Cold Reception back at Blackwall?
[VCLY]: I heard some things, never saw it though.
[VCLY:] Wait, you mean the Ocello missing like, the entire starboard side?
[KRED]: Minimal casualties, entire command staff sealed inside the CIC, all alive, you can see the CIC plating from the outside. Nobody knows what did it and Oscar won't say a thing.
[VCLY]: Had to be a magazine detonation, no doubt. A blast like that would've killed everybody on board and then some.
[KRED]: Beats me, I have no idea. I heard that Bulwark was planning to roll out some new alloy they came up with over at the Otdel but I didn't think it'd be deployed so soon.
[VCLY]: Or so effective, for that matter.
- ↑ DC crews will still receive orders regardless of the command state of a ship.
