Component:mls-3-launcher
In Game Description
A roll-off launcher capable of firing heavy ati-ship munitions, typically torpedoes. The MLS-3 is manually loaded by crewmembers pulling ammunition from the bulk magazines and can fire 2 torpedoes per volley. As the ammunition is quite heavy, the MLS-3 has an extensive reload time and is restricted to firing only the currently loaded weapons.[1]
The MLS-3 comes with a special built-in system to initialize and pre-warm missiles during the loading process, skipping the lengthy pre-launch initializations and checks of an always-ready system like VLS. This enables missiles to be launched immediately upon order, only taking a moment to load the target parameters before firing.
NOTE: Rollof-style launchers are not capable of firing defensive missiles.[2]

Constantine, Captain Roth managed to pull access keys to an arsenal of Core Security MLS-3 launcher systems. Given that we have no way- at least, until now- to reliably use the SGT-300 Pilum stocks outside of Ocello-class warships, we've decided to fast-track our usual materiel acquisition and take everything we could find. Vance and her flotilla have already delivered enough stock to arm 1st Flotilla and we're receiving plenty more where that came from.
Thanks to the forethought of the Naval Office, the modular nature means we won't have to do any specialized re-engineering to install them into our current roster- just point out whatever warship you want equipped with them and it'll be done. The safety locks have already been removed and they'll be ready for use with minimal training. This is just a personal note but it's a shame these were restricted to military and Core Security use, these could have prevented Bethel from executing what it did, but like most Alliance military developments: the civilians always get the short end of the stick.
- ↑ Changing desired missile load while in the process of reloading incurs no penalty: If ordered to switch from missile A to missile B while the launcher is 90% complete reloading missile A, then missile B will be loaded when the final 10% completes with no interruption to reload time.
- ↑ Rolloffs can fire these missiles, but they cannot fire them automatically or with Z-Prio.
- ↑ Missile Launchers cannot use missiles smaller than their size.
- ↑ This includes the SGM3 Flail series of "Crude Hybrids" and SGT series torpedoes.
