In Game Description

This compartment converts a large cargo bay space into a storage and organization area for spare parts and casualty control equipment. It does not provide facilities to outfit many damage control personnel, but when combined with a traditional DC locker it can help bring even the most crippled ship back into the fight.

Gameplay usage

Exclusive to the OSP, the Large DC Storage gives up DC teams for sheer restores. It has the worst Repair per point, and Repair per slot, but is somewhat tougher than other DC lockers aside the Reinforced DC and Complex, and carries 4 Restores, winning the spot for most restores per slot and point of any DC by a wide margin. As the tooltip suggests, combining it with a Damage Control Complex and/or other DC gives a very large amount of combat endurance to the ship it is mounted on, and it is commonly found alongside a Complex on Marauders.

All teams, be aware: everything aft of block 4 took a nasty hit during transit through the Eight Ball Belt. We're to meet up with Vance around Fortuna around this time next week and we'll have to cut through the Nine Ball at the same time, and I've informed Cooper that the ship will probably not stand up to something like that again. I need parties 4 through 6 to do inventory of Repair 3 and give me an itemized list of any damage found in the vicinity. Whoever gets it to me first gets the box of Smokey Moky's donuts sitting in my locker, they're fresh.

Last thing- please watch your step, I don't need someone tripping on a shore and busting their ass. If you need to take anything, LOG IT ON YOUR WRISTCOMP. I am tired of someone taking my crescent wrenches or splinter kits without informing me or the DCA, you guys have no idea what it feels like when someone borrows tools and just ghosts on the ship while I'm running around looking for the 12".
