In Game Description
The FR-Series is the staple power supply of the fleets for nearly over a century. The FR4800 is the most common model and provides an efficient amount of power to field most systems and weapons on warships.
Gameplay usage
It's a reactor. It reacts. Sometimes too much. Emergency shutdown it if that becomes a concerning issue.

Lore
Typical reactor found on warships, sometimes on stations. You really can't go wrong with these save for the usual problems (see my report on the FR3300) but the benefits outweigh the cons.
You don't need to bunker up excess fuel and it's relatively safe to repair once you have the right training, something the Naval Office constantly emphasizes during their monthly reports.
