In Game Description

This compartment converts a large cargo bay space into the ultimate damage control and coordination center. Unlike its smaller sibling found on alliance warships, which only provides facilities to coordinate teams moving about the ship in order to improve their efficiency, this compartment is an all-in-one damage control solution made possible only by the cavernous spaces contained within the OSP's converted freighters.

Gameplay usage

Exclusive to the OSP, Damage Control Complexes are alike to a combination of Damage Control Central, Large DC Locker, and Reinforced DC. Featuring more HP and DT than a Reinforced DC, the same restores and repair teams of a Large DC (Making them the only >1 restore high-DT DC), and slightly different (with +5% max repair being very strong) modifiers than the Central for only 10 points more than either of the former, one should almost always be fit to a Flathead, Marauder, or Moorline, as they are a one-stop solution to backline DC needs, and a very slot and cost efficient overall package for frontlines, even if other DCs have a better repair-per cost efficiency (small, rapid, large) or restore-per-cost efficiency (Storage). They also may be used for "shielding" components further inside a ship, such as top-tanking with "Obelisk" style Marauders, using the 'Reinforced' tag to repeatedly take and repair lethal hits. If doing so, the "Low" DC priority should be worked around by manually tasking DC to keep the Complex alive. It is not reccomended to mount more than one Complex per ship, as the 4x compounding cost makes further complexes exorbitant.

Lore

"Watch your head! "

Vance ducks under a scaffolding, making sure her cloak doesn't hit a snag. She follows Stratis closely behind, her eyes looking out into the main area of the complex.

Despite the chaotic noise of crewmen calling for parts and the grind of power tools, the cargo bay is nealy organized into specialized zones of repair and everything moves like a well-oiled machine- no damage controlman is left without a job, be it replacing screws on a simple power supply to replating worn panels of the warship's reactor.

"We can fit about fifty, maybe sixty guys in here,"

Stratis calls, looking back over his shoulder to the Captain as he steps over a power cable. "With a little work, we could probably turn the entire cargo bay into a dedicated engineering space."

Vance stops in her place, allowing two crewmen hauling a rattling crate to pass by, She rubs the back of her neck, taking in the sights and sounds. "I like it but what's the cost? I'm seeing some rare gear in here," she replies. Stratis raises his hands, sweeping them across the bay.

"Eyewatering. The Otdel is fronting the Silver for ours- they're calling it a 'prospect' and making sure it actually helps us when push comes to shove. Personally, I think it'll be great."

"You're not worried about, I don't know, a beam ripping through here?"

"The way I see it, ma'am, if something hits us, they'll have a hell of a time making sure it hurts."
