In Game Description

Magazines hold the ammunition for the warship and can carry multiple types of ammunition all at once.

Destruction of the magazine will result in all stored ammunition rendered unusable until repaired.

This magazine is reinforced and has increased safety measures, reducing the likelihood of magazine explosion, but also reducing storage volume.[1]

Gameplay Usage

Counterintuitively to their classification as a module with a 'Catastrophic Event' Critical, Citadel Magazines are often used to toughen a ship thanks to their DT50 (Reinforced) attributes. Unlike the Reinforced Magazine, the Citadel Magazine will only fit to the 3-tall compartments of the Flathead, Marauder, and Moorline, of which only the Marauder can effectively place this magazine first in an effective line-of fire (by being the top of a "stack" of modules in a "Obelisk" type of design), thus it's role is more traditional in the other two ships.

Victor, it's Clyde. My ship was ambushed by an Alliance scout and the long-range communications suite has been totally blanked by a Tempest. We don't have the parts to completely repair it and I'm only managing to send you this message by bouncing off a nearby buoy- I need you to throw this report into your DARC and send it off to Naval Command, it's deathly important. Report follows-

// ATTN ATTN

DURING TACTICAL PATROL OF ONYX ORBIT, VESSEL ENCOUNTERED SA RECON FRIGATE. ENEMY VESSEL HAD ADVANTAGE AND WAS OPERATING IN RADAR SHADOW BEFORE ENGAGING WITH MISSILE MUNITIONS. VESSEL TOOK CRITICAL DAMAGE. COMMS UNIT OFFLINE. ENGINE COMPARTMENT SUFFERED HEAVY DAMAGE. 43 CREW CASUALTY. MAGAZINE ONE RECEIVED DIRECT HIT BUT DAMAGE MINIMAL. VESSEL RETURNED FIRE AND STRUCK ENEMY WARSHIP'S BOW BEFORE BOTH SHIPS DISENGAGED. THIS MESSAGE IS BEING ROUTED AND CAPT CLYDE HAS LAID COURSE FOR NEAREST OSPN OUTPOST.

CAPT CLYDE HAS ASKED TO EXTEND PERSONAL GRATITUDE TO OTDEL FOR INSTALLATION OF ADDITIONAL PLATING AND SAFETY MEASURES FOR MAGAZINE ONE AND APOLOGIZES FOR 'UNBECOMING BEHAVIOUR' TO THE PORT CHIEF PRIOR. IT IS LIKELY THE VESSEL WOULD BE DESTROYED WITHOUT ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT.

  1. ↑ This critical is mitigated so long as the magazine is empty.
  2. ↑ Magazines compound differently to other compounding modules: If a ship has only one magazine of any magazine type installed, it costs 0 pts. If a ship has more than one magazine including all types installed, the most expensive costs 0 pts, and all others cost their listed cost and do not exponentially compound.
  3. ↑ "Tiling" Compartments, when placed in compartments larger than the listed component size, scale their capacity by the x, y, and z of the compartment they are mounted to. Not all stats scale with tiling.
  4. ↑ Magazines can hold any munition in the game for campaign reasons, including those that can never be loaded from magazines (CM4 containers, for instance)
