Harlan Corlain is an infantry Squad Leader from Dice of the Gods. Frankie Sallustio's favorite assassin, he will become available to you if you complete many missions on this planet, and his skill tree can make him one of your most effective saboteurs and close-range assassins.

Corlain, along with Roisin Murdock and Wu Wei, is a special Honor Guard unit: he can only be recruited after gaining a sufficient level of trust with a particular faction, in his case Dice of the Gods. Hiring any one of these characters makes the trust requirement for the other two higher, so the player will be unable to get all three at the same time. To make up for the comparatively higher difficulty of recruiting them, these characters have higher stats than most 2-star units, and possess 5 rather than 4 unique Perks.

Background & Lore

Corlain came from the most impoverished background imaginable: Born in the pipes buried under the icy planet's surface, a member of the ill-treated unseen society that labors underground to keep the casinos and resorts operational, far from the eyes of their patrons. However, so great was his skill, determination, and ruthlessness that he rose to become Frankie Sallustio's right-hand man and favored assassin. If the player builds up sufficient trust with Frankie and her faction, she will make Corlain and his considerable skill available for your use.

Trivia

Corlain's personality and background is reminiscent of 20th century mafia or gangster movies; for instance, the description of his "Nothing Personal" skill is a callback to the line from "The Godfather," "Michael Corleone sends his regards."

Behind the Scenes

His voice actor is Blake Kubena. Mr. Kubena has extensive experience in America, Britain, and New Zealand in theater (performing in several Shakespeare commemorations) but might be most recognizable to gamers for voicing various side characters in Star Wars: Battlefront II. [1]
