Welcome! Wiki editing is pretty easy in general. After logging in, you go to the top right of the page and click "Edit", and this is what you will see:

1. is the format bar

2. is the upload image box

3. is the actual writing space

4. is the preview page button

5. is the save page button

At the very basic, you simply write anything on the writing area (3) like you would on Microsoft Word. Then you highlight anything you want to format and you can use the buttons (1) to format it, like you would on Microsoft Word.

As for the wiki specific commands you need to know:

Links: Pagename is how you do links (so if you write Factions, you will link to the Factions article)

Saving Edits: Press the Preview button (4) to see what it looks like without saving, them press the Save Changes button (5) to save the edits

Adding Images: is how you add images.

 • Filename is the file name of any image found in the File List under Special pages
 • Size means the size you want in pixels, e.g. 30px
 • Position is simply if you want it to be left, right, or center of the page.

So if you write , you will put an image with the icon of a road measuring 30 pixels in the center of the page.

And that's pretty much it, you can now edit any wiki page

As for the actual localization, people here doing loc can give you the details but it's pretty straightforward -- just add /fr at the end of a page (e.g. https://wiki.hoodedhorse.com/Heroes_of_Might_and_Magic_Olden_Era/Factions/fr) to go to the French version of that page.

However, localizing an entire wiki is a big effort and we don't currently have French in the list of languages in the nav bar. It's easy to add and the admins of the wiki can help you with that, but just letting you know it's a big endeavor 🙂
