Banish
From He is Coming Official Wiki
Banishing an item removes it from the item pool for the rest of the run. Banished items can't show up in any chest or as a drop again, and a new option is rolled in the banished item's place.
How it works
- You banish while looking at the items offered by a Treasure Chest or a Hero's Grave.
- Banishing a weapon rolls a new weapon in its place.
- The number of banishes you start a run with depends on the size of your item pool: you get more as you unlock more items.
- Banishes are shown as hammers. The Hammer Smith sells 5 more for 10 gold.
- Since Patch #16, banishing several items from the same chest is faster.
In the Gauntlet
In the Gauntlet, one banish re-rolls all the items in the bag or chest you are looking at, instead of just one.
In Kingmaker
Banishes were added for single-player runs only, to keep Kingmaker builds from becoming even more consistent. The Hammer Smith doesn't appear on the Kingmaker map.
Tips
- Banishing early in a run removes items you never want for that build, which makes the items you do want more likely to show up.
- Keeping a few banishes for later turns them into rerolls when you need one specific kind of item for the next boss.
