Settings

Your Matabele ant colony must defend itself from the threat of 3 titans. Nest entrance will be automatically excavated after you have played for 90 seconds.

The mission starts at night.

You have access to 3 fungus-growing termite colonies. Colony termites disappear 2 minutes after death while other enemies on the surface disappear 5 seconds after death. Colony termite queens, underground enemies and titans don't disappear after death.

You must choose either anesthetist or fast-responder medics before playing the mission. You start with 20/ 16/ 13/ 10/ 10 soldier brood tiles.

Non-player colonies

Enemy termite colonies are hostile to each other.

Minor soldiers and major soldiers are kept around the queen and are only deployed to protect the gathering groups.

Brood tiles with eliminated termites can't incubate for 12 minutes. Enemy colonies don't receive free nanitic workers when they don't have any food or workers left.

Enemy colonies retreat inside at noon and gather lignocellulose within their territories for the rest of the day.

Notable enemies

Enemies are on the same side and are hostile to the ants.

Earwigs and termites live in your nest.

Surface enemies don't invade your nest. They may fight among themselves to keep their own number in check.

African tiger beetles, rainbow lizards and African giant mantises only appear on the surface during the day.

Rainbow lizards are invulnerable for 10 seconds after appearing on the map. They escape when they have below 45% of their health. Adult lizards will take juvenile ones with them. Nearby lizards are attracted to the combat area every 15 seconds.

Earwigs, juvenile sun spiders and alligator back scorpions only appear on the surface at night.

Titans

The size-level 1/ 1/ 2/ 3/ 4 titans appear one by one each night and invade your nest. They can excavate and release underground enemies in your nest. Night doesn't end until the titans are eliminated.

The adult sun spider appears on the third night. It destroys your surface nest entrance to let other titans invade on later days. This is a scripted event. It will stun all creatures on the surface until it reaches your nest if it is damaged too quickly.

The adult African giant centipede appears on the fourth night. It can rush forward and remove mounting ants when it has below 80% of its health. This ability can inflict true damage on contacting enemies equal to 2% of their health every 0.2 second and can only be used every 23 seconds. Your queen is immune.

The adult emperor scorpion appears on the fifth night. It can become invulnerable for 5 seconds each time it distances itself.

Challenge

Assassin bugs appear in the evening and gather near the designated termite mounds until the next noon.

  • Night 1: Left
  • Night 2: Middle and right
  • Night 3: Left and right
  • Night 4: Left, middle and right
  • Night 5: Left, middle and right

Assassin bugs increase in number every day, but only up to 3 for each mound.

Trivia

  • The auto-excavation of your nest entrance is actually done by a termite minor worker. It doesn't belong to any colonies. It leaves through a spawner to the west of your nest if not eliminated.
