Compass

Overview

The Compass contains more than a hundred new buildings, boosters, ships, and other upgrades that are unlocked by spending Principle Path Points.

The Compass is divided into four quadrants, one for each Principle Path, aligned along the cardinal directions of a compass rose. From the top, clockwise, the quadrants are:

	Notoriety	(North)
	Empire	(East)
	Seafaring	(South)
	Wealth	(West)

Unlocking Ships and Tiers

The Compass is further divided into five tiers, in concentric rings, corresponding to tiers of the upgrades. The three options in the first tier of each quadrant are available immediately when the Compass first becomes available. After investing sufficient points in each tier, the next ship can be unlocked. Unlocking that ship then enables the next tier of options to be unlocked.

Unlocking two adjacent quadrants' ships at the border between Tier 1 and Tier 2 and again at Tier 4 enables a stronger ship variant, located on the diagonals in between the cardinal directions. For example, unlocking Empire's Destroyer 2 Iron Fist and Seafaring's Hunter 2 Tide Runner enables you to then unlock the ship in between them to the southeast on the Compass, the Destroyer+ 2 Steel Edge, which is stronger than the Iron Fist.

Each tier requires an increasing number of points invested to advance to the next tier.
