Overview

Wheat is a crop that can be grown in your colony. Like all crops, it requires proper soil conditions, adequate lighting, and protection from harsh environmental factors to thrive.

Wheat is a midgame crop that must be researched before it can be planted on any farm. It is more difficult to cultivate than those that are available at the beginning of the game. Fertilizer may be necessary to continuously grow it.

Wheat cannot be consumed raw and requires processing into flour at the Mill before it can be cooked into any foods. Flour is required to produce 3-star food quality at the Bakery and Soup Kitchen.

Wheat and Flour cannot be sold to pay taxes or pirate ransoms.

Since Wheat converts to 5 times as much flour in the Mill, you do not need to plant a great deal of it to meet your culinary needs.
