Drop off location that feeds into conveyor belts. 1x1x1 with input and output space needed.

The input hopper is part of the conveyor system of buildings, they act as a drop off site for resource to put them into the conveyor network. The front is the input and the back side will output onto belts.

When placed, Input Hoppers will accept all goods and can be considered the nearest Warehouse by nearby Whiskers. This can create logistics issues if unintended. See the Logistics Hub building page for reasons why this might be desirable.

The Input Hopper can be configured to allow only certain goods to be deposited to prevent the end point Warehouse from receiving random goods. Warehouses, regardless of their settings, must accept all goods received via conveyor belts. As such, the only available filter is on any relevant Input Hopper(s).

Additionally, the Input Hopper can be configured to only be used by buildings that select it as its drop off point. This can limit which Whiskers will use that Input Hopper. This setting must be turned on at the Input Hopper and subsequently set on the logistics tab of each production building that will use it. Practically, this can keep Whiskers from wandering off to the "nearest Warehouse" which may not be the most efficient pathing for your setup.

Input Hoppers, along with the attached conveyor belt setup, are a great way to shorten drop off tasks for your Whiskers at production buildings.
