Tea Leaves

Overview

Tea Leaves is a crop that can be grown in your colony. Like all crops, it requires proper soil conditions, adequate lighting, and protection from harsh environmental factors to thrive.

Tea can be planted on farms only after it is researched. It is a late game crop requiring the use of fertilizer to grow. When using the Farming Tool to look for locations to plant tea, no area will appear ideal. Do your best to pick the best of the bad options and immediately use fertilizer to bring the Nutrient levels to the incredibly high standards for tea (over 100% which is only achievable with fertilizer). Avoid rocky terrain so as to avoid the penalties it will inflict on fertility. While rocks can be removed, it will delay your first crops.

Tea, much like wheat, must be processed before it can be consumed. The Tea Roaster is required to produce drinkable versions of tea that will be distributed to Cafes and Dining Halls.

Raw tea cannot be sold so carefully choose the amount planted so as not to produce more than you can process.
