Water valves, unlike Water Pipe are directional. The valve, when clicked, will show the differential pressure between both sides of the valve. On this screen, you can set a value for when the valve should be open or closed.

Essentially, if water pressure falls too low, the valve will close, cutting off water consumers on the other side. This can be helpful for ensuring water is available to critical systems during a shortage.

If enough water is available, there may not be a good use scenario for Water Valves, except for an emergency backup for an unexpected shortage.
