			Flax is a native crop that is available to plant from the start of the game. It is slightly more difficult to plant than the other native crops, but carries similar growing benefits. Flax is gentle on soil nutrients levels, so farm fallowing or fertilizer is unlikely to be needed.

			Flax is the foundation of the fiber supply chain and should be planted early, preferably before the Forager Hut exhausts the local wild supply. You need it to make woven cloaks, rope, nets, thread, cloth, and more.

			You do not need to aggressively plant Flax, but you will need to expand farms to support your growing fiber supply chain.

			You can heat small Flax farms in the winter to continue growing and harvesting Flax. This may be helpful in the early game to ensure your Whiskers have clothing in the winter.
