| Rolling belt to move resources. | 1x1 | ||||
The flat belt is part of the conveyor system of buildings, it will move items in a direction of your choosing. They receive goods from input hoppers and carry them to storage conveyor ports which stores resources inside.
Flat Belts must be placed in their intended direction which is indicated both by the yellow arrows on belt and a white arrow when placing the belts. Flat Belts can be turned by placing another Flat Belt at the end of the line facing another direction. The graphical image of the Flat Belt will change into a "corner" piece on placement.
Flat Belts must terminate on another conveyor belt piece or a conveyor belt input at a Warehouse, Dropoff Shed, or other conveyor belt pieces. Goods may not fall off of a Flat Belt and will wait on the line until appropriately connected. Demolishing a Flat Belt in this state will move the goods back along the line.
Flat Belts can merge goods onto a single line, but cannot split them. With Advanced Belt research, a Splitter can be used to perform this function.
Flat Belts move goods along them at a glacial pace. Any goods needed urgently should be handled differently. The advantage of using Flat Belts is their ability to stop Whiskers from repeatedly having to find an appropriate Warehouse - wasting time in transit rather than working a farm, mine, etc.
Flat belts are built instantly and do not require Whiskers to have access to their location.
