Faction Leader
The leader of The Initiative is Chairman Soren Van Wyk. He has held various positions within arms manufacturer Western Armories from 2004 to present, including chairman of the board since 2014. Holds a minority ownership stake in DWKY Industries, which has diamond mining partnerships with the governments of Botswana and Namibia. He is occasionally criticized in activist media for labor practices of his various interests, but no formal investigations are known to have taken place.
Interaction with Other Factions
Factions with Similar Ideology
Contrasting the defined stances and values of other factions, people who support The Initiative are either opportunists like the faction’s leadership, or in possession of false beliefs about the aliens that serve The Initiative’s ends. Accordingly, they find the most 'common ground' with Undecided humans, who, having no particular bias towards supporting or opposing the aliens, are easier for the equally apathetic Initiative to induct.
Eventually Initiative finds common ground with most members of Humanity First. Initiative is sympathetic to Project Exodus, seeing them as failsafe for dangerous societal elements and their corporate-friendly structure, as well as more cynical members of the Protectorate due to their methods.
Factions with Opposite Ideology
Initiative is most opposed to the the Academy, because they consistently call them out on being worse than Hydras.
Initiative is in natural conflict with the Resistance, who want to both close the wormhole and preserve traditional power structures.
The Servants are seen by the Initiative as an ideology of fanatical alien worshippers, therefore a primary target for liquidation.
