New page

{{icon|project}} '''Mods''' change or extend [[Terra Invicta]]. This page is a community list of mods: what each one does, what it needs and where to get it. Larger mods have their own pages on this wiki that explain their features in detail.

Anyone can add a mod to this list - see [[#Adding your mod|Adding your mod]] at the bottom. For the technical side of making mods, see [[Modding]].

== Installing mods ==
Terra Invicta has two kinds of mods:
* '''Data mods''' only change game data (templates, texts, images). Subscribe to them on the [https://steamcommunity.com/app/1176470/workshop/ Steam Workshop] and enable them in the in-game '''Mods''' menu.
* '''Code mods''' add new program logic (a
.dll
file). They need '''[https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/21 Unity Mod Manager]''' (UMM), which is installed into the game once:
*# Download Unity Mod Manager and run
UnityModManager.exe
.
*# Select Terra Invicta, or point UMM to
Steam/steamapps/common/Terra Invicta
.
*# Choose the '''DoorstopProxy''' installation method (on Linux: '''Assembly''') and click '''Install'''.
*# Start Terra Invicta and press '''Ctrl + F10''' - the UMM window confirms that it works. Mod settings are found in this window.
*# Subscribe to the mod on the Steam Workshop and enable it in the in-game '''Mods''' menu.

{{icon|warning}} Code mods are tied to game versions. After a game update, check the mod's page for the supported versions before you continue a campaign. Most mods cannot be removed from a running campaign without risk – read the "Save games" section of the mod's page first.

{{icon|warning}} In multiplayer every player needs exactly the same mods in the same versions.

== Mods by Henrik Long ==
These four mods are made by the same author and are tested together. TI Fleet Manager and TI Space Nations connect to TI Multiplayer automatically when both are installed.

=== TI Fleet Manager ===
[[File:ICO MergeFleetOperation on.png|40px|link=TI Fleet Manager]] Replaces the flat ship list of a fleet with a four-level command structure: '''Fleet → Squadron → Division → Ship'''.
* One click sorts all unassigned ships of a fleet into squadrons and divisions by hull class.
* Divisions and squadrons can be detached for separate missions and recalled; returning units fly home and merge on arrival by themselves.
* Ships can be ordered straight into a fleet: the mod picks the fastest shipyard and delivers the finished ships.
* Fleets can be mothballed at a station to save upkeep and reactivated later.
'''→ [[TI Fleet Manager|Read more]]''' · [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3731957572 Steam Workshop]

=== TI Multiplayer ===
[[File:ICO contact on.png|40px|link=TI Multiplayer]] Adds multiplayer to Terra Invicta. The host runs the game; every other player sees the same world in real time.
* '''Sandbox campaign''': the full campaign, each player controls one faction, the AI plays the rest. In co-op two players share one faction.
* '''Skirmish''': a 1v1 tactical space battle straight from the main menu.
* Live tactical battles between players or against the AI (with spectators), player-to-player trade, chat, hot-join, host migration and shared save games.

=== TI Space Nations ===
[[File:Station T3 RingCore.png|40px|link=TI Space Nations]] Turns large planets and moons into political maps.
* Grow a surface base into a tier-4 '''city''' and declare it an independent '''colony nation''' with its own provinces, priorities and control points.
* Settle the free land of a world, unite its nations into a '''planetary union''', and unite Earth under the '''United Nations'''.
* Raise colonial armies and move them between worlds with troop transport ships; land them on enemy ground with drop pods.
* The aliens notice: founding nations angers them, and they hunt, strike and invade.
'''→ [[TI Space Nations|Read more]]''' · Steam Workshop: ''not yet released''

=== TI Crew Extended ===
Adds a global '''Crew''' resource, shown in the top bar next to Mission Control as ''Free / Required / Pool''.
* Each month you gain crew from the population of the nations you control (population ÷ 20,000,000). Three projects lower the divider to 15, 10 and finally 5 million.
* New station modules train crew: '''Fleet Academy''' (+5 per month), '''Fleet War College''' (+15) and '''Grand Fleet Academy''' (+40).
* Ships and station modules can start building without enough crew, but they only complete once enough free crew is available. Ships are staffed before hab modules.
* Destroyed ships permanently reduce the crew pool; scuttled ships and ships in refit free their crew again. Surface bases and the aliens do not use crew.
* Can be added to a running campaign, but is not meant to be removed again.
== Adding your mod ==
# Add a row to the [[#Mod list|mod list]] table above. Keep the description to one or two sentences.
# If your mod needs more explanation, create a page for it named after the mod. Start the page with the [[Template:Infobox/Mod|mod infobox]] and add
<nowiki>[[Category:Mods]]</nowiki>
at the bottom.
# For large mods, put each topic on a subpage (for example
My Mod/Combat
) and link the subpages from the main page.
# Describe what players see and do, and give exact numbers where you can. Mark spoilers about the aliens with
<nowiki>{{SpoilerBox}} … {{SpoilerBoxEnd}}</nowiki>
.
