Overview
Scoria does not occur naturally; it is the product of freezing Lava.
Destroying it produces Cinder which can then be moved or carried.
Mechanics
To make Scoria, Lava can be frozen with Snow. It is part of the early to mid game Lava cycle.
Tips
Scoria is a relatively tough resource; it does not break as easily as Dirt, but all regular digging tools can be used on it.
