Liquid Vents are required to allow liquids to escape from Pipes.
Mechanics
When connected to a Pipe network, each Liquid Vent will allow liquid to leave the network.
Liquid Vents can expel a maximum of 4 pixels of liquid per tick; therefore, one Pump can support up to 4 Liquid Vents when operating to capacity.
Liquid Vents will allow any liquid to pass through Pipes apart from Lava, which is too hot.
Tips
Vents will only allow liquid to escape if they are not already submerged. A Vent is considered submerged in this context once three-quarters of it are under a liquid - that is, all but the top row of pixels.
