Anti-radiation seekers home in on the radiated energy of a target. These seekers also make great validators, allowing the missile to discriminate between a ship and a simple decoy like chaff by checking for radio emissions

ARAD seeker is a type of passive seeker that look for PSV RADAR signals, which is the signal of ship search radar. They function similarly to ELINT sensors. As long as a ship still has functioning radar and the player did not manually disable radar transmit, the ARAD seeker would steer the missile to the source of the radar. It should be noted that while ARAD ignores chaff, it will lock onto the spoofing signal from the EA99 Active Decoy, Container Decoys, and all sources of radar jamming. Note that ARAD also comes with a HoJ capability even in "All Radar" mode. ARAD will prefer sources of ship search radars over radar jamming, as they are more powerful.

ARAD has 30 seconds of "validator memory", which means that as long as a track has been validated by the seeker once and the primary seeker can still see the target, it will stay valid for at least 30 seconds even if it no longer seen by the ARAD validator
