Cruise

Cruise guidance allows you to plot waypoints for the missile to follow. Cruise missiles will only turn on their seekers and arm their warheads after the last waypoint. If a cruise missile strikes a ship before reaching its final waypoint, the missile will be destroyed without damaging the object they collided with.

If a cruise missile is fired at a track, the missile automatically sets the last waypoint so the target is just outside seeker range. Track mode can use one TRP(target reference point) as an a waypoint. Cruise guidance also automatically plots an intercept course on moving targets similar to direct.

  * Cruise guidance gives missiles a limited ability to avoid terrain obstacles while still on waypoints.
  * Cruise guidance always uses Minimum Angle trajectory, measured from the point where the missile detects a target. If the missile has terminal maneuvers, it's instead measured from where the maneuvers begin. Note that this can become unreliable if the missile catches a target at close range or on the edge of it's FoV and needs to sharply turn to seek, so expect cruise missiles with poor maneuverability to often default back to free approach.
