Lore
Back in 434 IY, a bunch of Hrymr Industrial rockwranglers over in Bethel started a riot in the Nine Ball Belt over the Amended Resource Plan penned by the Core Conferrence and broke into 'Mimir' Tungsten Mine. Being Miners, they immediately knew what had to be done- melt down all the tungsten into superalloy rods and fire them from mass drivers at the Bethel Barony's warhsips (Shelter's ships back then) and turn them into hot slag. Naval Office was furious.
Interesting tactical dilemma: The miners operated out of the few, functional Jotun-7s still in existence, but you can't destroy them since they are priceless relics that provide precious metals and gas for almost the entirety of the Alliance and Protectorate. Captain Sam Keystone had the answer and that was to play at their own game. In a way that I can only admire, she gave the Naval Office the finger and used the own funds from House von Keystone to fit her destroyer with a captured mass driver and precision fire to disable key sections on miner ships and Jotuns. Everybody was happy (I think), Sam got another medal, the rest is history.
