Component:mk-65-cannon

From NEBULOUS: Fleet Command Official Wiki

In Game Description

A medium-weight cannon, intended to operate as a middle-ground between the lighter and heavier Mk6x series, offering excellent firepower to shred light warships while also providing a solid punch on targets above its weight class.

With a fairly quick acquisition time, the weapon can reliably train onto heavier targets, but will struggle against smaller, more evasive targets. As such, it is best used from medium-to-long range where its ample reload time and accuracy can best be used. Fires 250mm chemical-ballistic shells.

Lore

Being in the Naval Office back in the days of the Gaznovian Conflict was a lot like going to one of those sermons from the Crimson Eye, the kind where you sit there while a guy in a spooky skull mask screams about the end of days and Nyx is going to appear today, tomorrow, or the classic 'very soon' and kill everybody. Except instead of Nyx, it was a heavy-set guy in olive drab pointing to an old image of Venuma and saying 'They're still out there!'

Come to think of it, I wonder if the 20 years spent developing the Mk64 had anything to do with that? This 'prediction' that the sequel to Venuma was about to 'happen any minute now', the kind of bullshit the ANO demolished the budget with whenever the yearly report rolled around.

What I mean is that the ANO and their associates (now how I would put it, if you ask me) were so wholeheartedly invested in preparing to fight off the nebulous successors to the Venuman throne that they couldn't see the actual enemy- the Alliance itself.
