Component:rrf
In Game Description
A redundant emergency shutdown system for fusion reactors, supplementing the built-in shutdown system which can fail when the module itself is heavily damaged[1]. Significantly reduces the probability of a reactor overload occurring.
Gameplay usage
Rarely useful, as without it's buffs most reactor overloads are solvable, and when they aren't, emergency shutdowns can solve them instead. It's also one of only two (Reinforced) modules, when ignoring drives and reactors, meaning it can be used to shield other internals. It is sometimes present on Solomon Battleships to reduce the odds of a Fuel Line Fire, which cannot be scrammed.

Notes
Lore
Essentially, an additional vacuum vessel for the tokamak combined with an additional sleeve for dire situations. Surprisingly, maintenance is minimal, leading to many reactor personnel to refer to the redundant failsafe as the "magic rod" since it never seems to experience any kind of malfunction.
Obviously, if the situation is getting out of hand and the heat is skyrocketing, you're still going to be facing down a reactor overload. The manual usually ends with a simple "good luck" when that starts to happen.
