Lore

Lots of arguments like to break out over the proper name for these compartments but the Naval Office insists on its current name for schematic reasons. A while back, these also covered the same purpose as the gun plotting Center but it turned out that the Superbrains attached to the ballistic calculators were feeding projectile data to the missile fire mission servers. Long story short, a lot of technicians got their asses handed to them by Constantine when he watched a Tempest perform an acrobatic Pirouette straight into the launching Solomon's bow and docked it in port for a good five months needing repairs.

You won't find a more robust computer system in the Alliance, this is a fact. Outdated control interface (an Alliance specialty) but tough, reliable, and easy to maintain. The ANO is pretty proud of this one and while that would normally be a cause for concern, it is a serious piece of hardware that will service the Alliance and the OSP for many more years.
