''Ubiquitous rotary cannon that you'll find anywhere in the Archipelago and the Spur, much to the Naval Office's chagrin. I like to imagine all those old guys sitting around in their cozy offices, angrily chewing on expensive cigars from Miramare, staring at their shiny medals while they daydream about their  accomplishments: "Those damn Pyxians will ruin anything- it wasn't like this back then, we had respect, we took down Vicoss with one shot."''

''Defenders were first thrown onto the old NAV-9 Skyguard, operating as a mobile AAA and vaporizing infantry back when the Deshimans were still using paramilitaries, thinking they could throw some hopped-up mercs at the problem and everything would be fine. Never happened, of course, turns out that a lot of mercs hate fighting people who also have guns. When the original Claymore heavy fighter rolled out, the Defender found a new role as an anti-tank weapon and the ANO was riding pretty high at that point. Sure, it devours ammunition faster than you can say 'Graznovia', but it'll turn anything below warship grade armor into salvage.''

''"Six, aff! Stabbing track 9-3-0-2!" There's a pause from the shuttle's guns as they swivel to face Messer-6, the twin barrels glowing a fiery orange-red as they unleash a wall of slugs. In Game Description

The P11 operates on the same principle as the Mk20 Defender, but make sup for the inherent inaccuracy of the Protectorate's retrofitted civilian sensors by adding a second barrel to double the number of 20mm rounds in any given point in space.

In Game Performance

Far from what the description suggests, the reduced accuracy means this weapon is actually more likely to hit an evading target, making it perform outright better for a lower price; at the cost of higher ammo consumption.

Lore

"Break, break!" Meadows calls, the battlespace a lightshow of explosions, tracer fire, and chaff. The ambush is a complete disaster; barracudas slide through duels, taking opportunistic shots at Tantos caught out of position while expertly weaving through the twin streams of Pavise-fire spilling from the nearby shuttles. The comms chatter is a mess of callouts, status reports, and cries for assistance as Meadows breathes deep, fighting back the Gs of her Tanto pulling hard turns and spins through clouds of inky smoke.

Her Tanto shakes as the nose-gun rips into a passing Barracuda, the craft spinning wildly out of control to explode somewhere out of sight. Meadows swallows, pulling hard on the stick and narrowly avoiding an incoming Barracuda that screams past her. She glances right, watching hte shuttle flying through the furball, both Pavise turrets swinging from target to target and filling the gaps of spacecraft fire with white-hot slugs.

"Four, Six! Stab on track 9-3-0-2, go for the guns!" She orders, taking up a position over the shuttle. Her eyes watch as Messer-6 breaks off from a Barracuda and somersaults to point his nose at the shuttle.

"Six, aff! Stabbing track 9-3-0-2!" There's a pause from the shuttle's guns as they swivel to face Messer-6, the twin barrels glowing a fiery orange-red as they unleash a wall of slugs. Messer-6 shouts some kind of warning over the comms but the noise of his Tanto tearing apart drowns him out, ending only wiht static as the Tanto detonates.

Meadows blinks, letting out a shout of frustration. "All craft, withdraw, withdraw! This is above our Nyx-damned paygrade!"
