Concept Art for flying Alien Wildlife unit

Alien Wildlife is a faction. This is a catch-all term denoting the native fauna of the various planets of the Wayback System, particularly those large and aggressive enough to pose a threat to humans. It is not an actual organized group the player can negotiate with, nor is it a sentient and strategically-thinking threat aiming to take over the entire system, like the MENACE. Even so, the player will often be tasked with destroying hives, culling large amounts of the creatures, etc. at the behest of other factions, civilians, or planetary governments.

Units

Alien Wildlife are a majority melee faction with a few ranged support options. Because of this, it is advisable to maintain around 5-6 tiles of separation between your units and the Aliens in order to avoid melee attacks. Bugs flip between 2 archetypes; smaller and numerous targets with minimal armor, and larger targets with smaller unit sizes. Like Pirates and Rogue Army, Alien Wildlife are affected by the Morale system and units will break or flee if their morale is low enough.

When fighting Alien Wildlife, aim for the support units such as the Blaster Bug or Bombardier first if possible; these units make up the bulk off the Aliens ranged firepower. Otherwise the player is advised to concentrate their vehicles or heavier infantry armor towards the front in order to soak up harassment fire from Stingers and Dragonflies. Bringing squad or vehicle based Machineguns or similar high suppression/high damage output Anti-Infantry weapons is recommended as is prioritizing longer ranged squad weapons such as the BR3A3 Kr-BaR "Crowbar" or R10A6 K-PAC. Close combat weapons such as the MP3A9 PPP or Stoneclad CS185 may work but run the risk of leaving squads vulnerable to melee attacks.

Strategies

Aliens are hard-hitting close range faction, with mix of numerous light unarmored units and durable heavy-hitters. Additionally, most Alien units bigger HP pools and Concealment than regular human infantry.

While lighter units like Alien Stinger can be easily dispatched with most AoE or rapid-fire weapons, and usually don't pose much danger to well-armed infantry, heavy Alien units like Blaster Bug and Alien Warrior are hard to take down with Squad Weapons, while capable of dishing out high single-target damage at close ranges. To counter these threats, it's advised to arm Marines with long-range and hard-hitting weapons, like BR3A3 Kr-BaR "Crowbar" or Anti-Material Rifle 'Crocodile' and other AT weaponry is advised, esepcially for dealing with Alien Queen.

For tactical accessories, due to higher amounts of Alien units on the battlefield, it's important to have adequate amounts of ammunition with Ammo Bag and Magazine Pouches or use heat-based weaponry. As Aliens are primarly close-range, using throwables or pistols is going to put marines in danger and is not advisable. Instead, due to faction high average Concealment, dedicated recon tools, like Binoculars or "Falcon" Recon Skybot might be better used for avoiding ambushes.

While most aliens are dishing out high single-target damage, Alien Bombardier and Alien Harpy attack with high-damage AoE bile, that can kill multiple marines in one attack. Thankfully, both are relatively short-range compared to human analogues, and can either be outranged by dedicated snipers, or safely dispatched via vehicles.

Aliens don't drop useful armamanets or armors that humans can use, but their biological parts are valued at high price, allowing TCR marines to trade with them for useful gear at Black Market
