Description

A modified assault rifle with added weight and extended barrel to deliver more accurate suppressive fire with less rounds. Usually employed by well trained troops like TCR marines.

Trivia

The IAR appears to be derived from the R228A1 MRS, sharing the same lower receiver. However, the IAR sports a longer barrel which comes standard with a muzzle brake, an integrated sling mount, a larger optic likely with greater magnification, and a modified fore-end which is issued with a bipod instead of an angled foregrip. The relationship between the IAR and the R228 would be similar to the real-world M27 IAR and the HK416, the RPK and the AKM, or the L86 LSW and the L85.

The IAR appears to have on its right magazine well the inscription: "ECHO, R228A1 MRS, Cal 5.56 mm x 45". This is an identical bullet size to 5.56x45mm NATO, a cartridge that would have been introduced over 250 years before the debut of the R228 and IAR.
