Events

Events are narrative occurrences which have a chance to occur every turn on the strategic layer. They can be good (providing resources, increasing discipline, etc) or bad (the opposite), or present the player with a dilemma. They are as follows:

Zayn-Beecher Prisoners

*A ship filled with prisoner escapees comes onto your radar. They're begging that you let them pass. Not long after, a warden from Mock opens comms.*

Greetings I am representing the Board of Zayn-Beecher and their business interests. We are aware that some prisoners of ours have come within range of your ship. The Board would be quite pleased if you could assist in returning this barge of escapees to our pens.

Options:

• #Fine. Dispatch a team to return the prisoners.
• #If they escaped, that's on you. This isn't our problem.

<ONE OUTCOME - UNKNOWN IF OTHER OUTCOMES POSSIBLE> *A burst of cannon fire disables the prisoners' ship and they are then handed over to a ZB security apparatus. As a reward for your action, The Board sends a nicely written letter of thanks.*

Xiao Xiao response: Interesting choice, Outsider. While this corporate matter naturally aids us little, a leader who is not squeamish about the reality of his situation is most intriguing. Fate shall have it that your sensibilities will come to favor the Backbone, this is certain.

Hayflick response: Major, Zayn-Beecher wants us to test some *potentially harmful materials and components* in a space governed by Dice of the Gods. The mechanics of said test are naturally secret. Our job is to simply transport the materials to the location and the corporation will take care of the rest.

Hayflick response: Major, space above The Backbone was apparently sprayed with some sort of celestially resistant chemical compound. The residue ate away at all-things-material and a dioxin inflicted harmful effects on anyone who touched it.

Unfortunately, out involvement in helping arrange the test was not kept secret. I tried to contact Zayn-Beecher for further compensation, but The Board has directed all queries over the matter to their off-worlded Help Desk, We're out of luck.

Hayflick response: Major, the 'test' went without an issue. Well, no issues for us, that is. Apparently the test created some problems for Dice of the Gods, but our hands have been washed of it. Zayn-Beecher is satisfied with out contribution to their affairs and has offered a 'gift' in return.
