This page will function as a tutorial for exploring the hero screen and explaining the different sections and what they mean. Below is a picture of the full hero screen, with sections being broken off to go over into more detail below.

Attributes & Skills

1) This section contains the hero portait, along with two bars to either side. The left blue bar represents how much mana your hero still has available to cast, while the right green bar shows how much of your movement you still have available for the day. Elsewhere on the hero screen (the green box at the bottom of this picture) there will be a numerical display of how many of either resource you have left.

At the bottom of the portrait is an orb with a number showing what level your hero is. This orb will slowly fill from the bottom to the top as your hero gets closer to leveling up.

Below the hero level there is a small graphic representing your hero's Specialty. Mousing over this icon will pop open a tooltip which will give a description of what your hero's Specialty does.

Just to the right of this is a small purple circle with a helmet inside with an 'x' over it. Clicking this will open a confirmation box to dismiss your hero from service.

2) This section contains an icon representing your hero class (whether you are a Might or a Magic hero), your hero's name, and their class. Mousing over the icon will open a tooltip describing your class, what Attributes it is likely to gain upon leveling up, as well as going over the two different subclasses your hero can eventually become if you level up the correct skills.

3) The 'quill' icon will pop open a text box detailing a short description of the hero and their story so far.

4) This section contains your hero's Attributes, as well as their Morale and Luck stats. All of these are inherited by your army during combat (although Morale and Luck limitations are dependent on Creature Type.

: Attack : Defense
: Spellpower : Knowledge
: Luck : Morale

5) This section contains all of the skills your hero has learned so far, as well as any subskills they have picked up (the small icons to the right of skills). Mousing over individual skills & subskills will display a tooltip describing the skill / subskill and what they do. Holding shift while hovering the mouse over a skill will expand the tooltip, showing all available subskills and what they do.

6) This section shows, from left to right, your movement points, how many experience points you have and how many until your next level-up, and how many mana points your hero has.

Additionally, the hero screen will also display any temporary effects your hero has. There are some Global Map objects that will give your hero temporary buffs or debuffs, like extra movement points, increased / decreased maximum mana, reduced stats points, and boosts to your Morale and Luck. They will usually only last until the beginning of the following week (or 1-2 for raiding Tombs of a Nameless Hero), and are represented by icons on the top of the hero screen. Hovering your mouse over these icons will display the positive or negative effect for your hero, and how long they will last for.

Artifacts

The middle of the hero screen is dedicated to any artifacts your hero has collected. Hovering the mouse over an artifact will display a tooltip describing what it does. Artifacts can have many effects, from increasing Attribute scores, increasing or decreasing morale for you or the opponent, granting you the use of high level spells, and more. Artifacts can only be equipped in particular slots on your hero, so you may have to choose between them to decide what is the best option to use in your current circumstances. You can swap them back and forth freely during your turn, but not during battles or while you are waiting for other players to take their turns.

1) From left to right, these artifact slots are: Holy Relic, Head, & Back

2) Top row: ring slot #1, Armor, ring slot #2

Bottom row: main hand slot, belt slot, off-hand slot

3) These contain 4 item slots and one slot for your boots.

4) This is your hero's inventory, where artifacts that you are not currently wearing are stored. The gold icons above the artifacts allow you to sort them by equip slot, and the horizontal bars icon on the right allows you to sort them by rarity or alphabetically. At the bottom of this section on the left is an icon with two chevrons pointing up. This allows you to upgrade a selected artifact with Alchemical Dust. On the right hand side is an icon of a bag with an 'x' over it, which will let you destroy a selected artifact in exchange for Alchemical Dust (warning: artifacts destroyed this way are permanently lost).
