The Palace Sentinel is one of three bosses that can spawn in the Swampland with each boss spawned on their own island. The only way to reach these islands is to have the boatman show it has an option from the three islands you can choose to go each time. Or using the sinking hole you can hope to be randomly sent to the island and checking the area to see the environment to which island is of the boss.
The Castle Grounds is where the Palace Sentinel reside, to known if you are on at that island look around if you see tons broken stone walls, vines and big black iron columns around the area then you are at Castle Grounds Island.
