Cohesion
Cohesion is the measure of how united the pirate community is. When Cohesion drops to zero, the game is lost. This is the only way to lose, so keep an eye out for the Cohesion Meter throughout the game.
You gain and lose Cohesion through your decisions, such as Events and Pirate Satisfaction. The compass can unlock buildings to gain Cohesion, such as locking Pirates into a Gibbet or completing Discovery Events with a Quartermaster. The compass can also unlock buildings to increase Cohesion Capacity with the Classy Banner, Bloody Banner, Salty Banner and the Fancy Banner.
