Each worker has a wage, which depends on their level, traits and number of hired workers of the same type.

Workers need benches to sit down when they aren't working. Each bench can support 3 workers.

When hiring new workers, there will be a pool of 3 available workers each day. The pool can be refreshed but this has a starting cost of 25 Gold and the cost is doubled with each refresh up to a cap of 400. The number of workers available for hiring can be increased via the Mastery Tree.

Workers can be laid off at any point but their wage for the day must still be paid.

Level

Each worker has a level which determines their number of skill points. Once they reach enough XP, they will level-up, giving two skill points that can be used to increase their skills. The level-up process can be set to automatically select the highest skill or all skills equally. Higher starting levels can be obtained via the Mastery Tree.

Blacksmiths have a base wage of 60 + (12 x level) and three skills:

  • Carpentry determines the time it takes to process wood on the Carpentry Table. At level 0 the time required is 15s for Oak Wood, 75s for Pine Wood and 200s for Birch Wood. Each level reduces the time required by 15%.
  • Design determines the amount of design points acquired when assigned to Design. At level 0 the blacksmith produces 10 points per day. Each level adds 5 more points per day.

Assistants

Assistants can be hired after unlocking Assistants in the Mastery Tree. They have a base wage of 47 + (11 x level). Each time an assistant carries an item they will gain 8 XP. Assistants have two skills:

  • Walk Speed determines walking speed. At level 0 walking speed is 2.2 m/s and each level increases it by 0.3 m/s.
  • Bag Size determines the number of items that can be carried in the bag. The number of items carried is equal to the skill level.
