A worker

Each worker has a wage, which depends on their level, traits and number of hired workers of the same type. They can be laid off at any point but their wage for the day must still be paid. Workers can also be renamed at any time.

When hiring new workers, there will be a pool of 3 available workers each day. The pool can be refreshed but this has a starting cost of 25 Gold and the cost is doubled with each refresh up to a cap of 400. The number of workers available for hiring can be increased via the Mastery Tree. Workers have a minimum hiring cost of 150 Gold regardless of Mastery Tree upgrades.

Level

Each worker has a level which determines their number of skill points. Once they reach enough XP, they will level-up, giving two skill points that can be used to increase their skills. The level-up process can be set to automatically select the highest skill or all skills equally. Higher starting levels can be obtained via the Mastery Tree.

Level 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Traits

At the beginning workers have a positive and a negative trait. A worker cannot have a positive and a negative trait that cancel each other. Workers with both traits positive can appear rarely after unlocking Super Workers in the Mastery Tree. These workers will have a blue name. The following traits are possible:
