{{Template doc
|overview=Generates a whole-page layout for articles about [[Buildings]].

Opinions go in the section on strategy. Facts go in all the other sections.
|usage=Use at the very top of the page and as the only content of the page unless the page warrants a special section after strategy.
|parameters=
{{Parameters_table
| 1 | omit this to use the name of the page itself, unless absolutely necessary, but it needed to be documented
| overview | before any headers, the intro text. Describe the building in just a sentence.
| unlock | describe the conditions required to unlock the building on the technology tree. Use of the [[Template:Spoiler]] tag is encouraged, especially for late-game buildings.
| production | the contents of the first major section, titled 'Production,' if applicable.
| purpose | '''if no production,''' use the more generically titled 'Purpose' section to explain the facts about the effects of the building, constraints, requirements, gameplay interactions, and how it fits into the Peeps' economics.
| adjacency_effects | if the building has any adjacency effects, present them factually, preferably in a list of conditions. save techniques and opinion for the strategy section.
| strategy | '''If you're addressing the player with a statement, it goes here.''' Share opinions, advice, value judgments, tips, techniques, strategies, and things to pay attention to here. There can be contradictory views in this section, so feel free to create subsections with <code><nowiki>=== 3rd-level headings ===</nowiki></code> to keep this organized, if necessary.

|unlock=The Ore Smelter is unlocked after {{spoiler|blur|the [[Mine]] produces some initial [[Iron Ore]]}}. After producing [[Iron]], {{spoiler|blur|the Ore Smelter helps unlock the [[Metal Smelter]]}}.
|production=The Ore Smelter requires [[Power]] to produce the important construction and intermediate resource [[Iron]] from [[Iron Ore]]. Shortly after the settlement starts producing Iron, [[Copper Ore]] also becomes available for mining, and existing Ore Smelters can start producing [[Copper]] immediately once a [[Mine]] starts providing the ore.

The Iron is essential for constructing other buildings and making [[Tools]], and Copper is essential for [[Power Lines]] and [[Electronics]] for more advanced buildings.

Provided with a steady supply of ore, the production speed of the Ore Smelter is generally sufficient to keep up with the primary consumers of Iron, the [[Toolsmith]] and [[Metal Smelter]].

|strategy=The Ore Smelter sits well next to a [[Burner Generator]] touching on one edge so the generator still has plenty of empty space around it. Its size and shape lets it sit within initial patches of three or four [[Forest]]s that can keep its [[Pollution]] under control.
