Difficulty

There are 9 basic difficulty levels. Higher difficulty levels result in more powerful enemies but do not affect other gameplay elements.

In increasing order of difficulty, the levels are:

• Peasant
• Squire
• Knight
• Lord
• Baron
• Count
• Duke
• Prince
• King

Initially, only Peasant is available. After completing a run at a difficulty for the first time with any king, the next level of difficulty is unlocked for all kings.

After completing the King difficulty, higher difficulty levels are unlocked with the following naming patterns:

• King I → King II → King III → King IV → King V → King VI → King VII → King VIII → King IX
• King IX I → King IX II → King IX III → King IX IV → King IX V → King IX VI → King IX VII → King IX VIII → King IX IX
